Usage Scenarios - GPU for the ZC706

The logiREF-ZGPU-ZC706 reference design for Xilinx® Zynq®-7000 AP SoC ZC706 Development Board can be used in several ways. For design details, please read the User's Manual.

Scenario 1

  Quick Evaluation of logicBRICKS GPU with no HW and/or SW Changes
   
- Download and install the logiREF-ZGPU-ZC706 reference design
- Use the provided SD card image to run precompiled demo applications

  What you Need?
 
- The ZC706 development board
- Keyboard, mouse, USB hub (not mandatory - many demos can be controlled by push-buttons)
- SD card reader for card programming
- SD card (min 256MB)

Scenario 2

  Develop Standalone and Linux software, no HW changes
   
- Download and install the logiREF-ZGPU-ZC706 reference design
- Use the provided Zynq-7000 SoC design as it is (binaries)
- Follow instructions for working with logicBRICKS standalone (bare-metal) drivers*
- Follow instructions for working with logicBRICKS Linux drivers*
- Develop software application before the target hardware's availability

* Please use the start.html file from your installation root directory or open /software/readme.html file to find relevant documentation for using logiREF-ZGPU software deliverables.

  What you Need?
 
- The ZC706 development board
- Xilinx Vivado® Design Suite
- Full Linux toolchain
- Access to Xilinx GIT

Scenario 3

   Full GPU Customization, HW and SW changes
   
- Download and install the logiREF-ZGPU-ZC706 reference design
- Remove or add more logicBRICKS IP cores, and/or third-party IP cores
- Change logicBRICKS IP settings through the Xilinx Vivado IP Integrator (IPI) GUI
- Implement new Zynq-7000 AP SoC design
- Setup software drivers for exact logicBRICKS IP configurations
- Develop your next product on the ZC706 development kit

  What you Need?
 
- The ZC706 development board
- Get logicBRICKS Evaluation of full IP licenses*
- Xilinx Vivado Design Suite
- Full Linux toolchain
- Access to Xilinx GIT
