3D Graphics Solution for Xilinx Zynq-7000 EPP and FPGAs

For designers who want to add full 3D graphics capability to their next Xilinx® Zynq™-7000 EPP design, Xylon has developed the logi3D Scalable 3D Graphics Accelerator IP core.

The Xilinx Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) is a new class of products which combines, in a single device, an industry standard dual-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ processing system with Xilinx 28nm programmable logic.

The programmable logic enables the implementation of custom designed IP cores, and in combination with the powerful ARM processors, the development of highly differentiated embedded products.

The logi3D graphics accelerator is designed to support  the OpenGL® ES 1.1 API. Linux is the currently supported operating system, with support for other OSes planned for year 2012.

Designed from the ground up for Zynq-7000 implementations, the logi3D provides high graphics performance and efficiently utilizes Zynq-7000 programmable logic.

The logi3D IP core is AMBA® AXI4 compliant and can be also implemented in Xilinx 7 Series and other Xilinx FPGAs in various ASSP+FPGA combinations.

To enable early development and demonstrate the IP core before implementing in Zynq-7000 EPP devices, Xylon has designed the logiGPU Graphics Demonstration Kit that combines the ARM Cortex-A8 CPU and the Xilinx Spartan®-6 FPGA.

Product is based on a published Khronos specification, and is expected to pass the Khronos Conformance Testing Process. Current conformance status can be found at www.khronos.org/conformance.
