How to Install .JAR on Linux OS

In order to install Xylon logicBRICKS reference designs in Linux, please use .JAR self-extracting installers.  Please make sure that you have a copy of the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) versions 6, 7 or 8 installed on your system and set as default, to be able to run Xylon Java applications and applets. These JRE versioning restrictions are exclusive to Linux distributions.

You must allow execution of the installation by setting up the execute permission of Xylon delivered .JAR installer. On desktop Linux operating system distributions, GUI windows may look as it is shown bellow.
Setup File Properties
Step 1:

Make a mouse right-click to setup file permissions.

Allow executing file as program
Step 2:

Allow executing file as program.

Run JRE to start installation
Step 3:

Open the installation file by the JRE.

Alternatively, you can start logicBRICKS installation from the Linux console by typing in:

chmod +x logicBRICKS_file_name.jar
java -jar logicBRICKS_file_name.jar &> /dev/null
