Xylon’s configurable logiBRICKS Vision AI Framework enables AI engineers to efficiently deploy AMD adaptive SoCs across a wide range of cross-market vision applications. This video clip showcases real-world use cases in airborne drone platforms, industrial warehouse environments, and automotive applications. The Xylon AI framework simplifies the complexity of SoC design, shifting the focus from low-level technical challenges toward accelerated AI development. Demo Setup
This is how the demo setup works. To run different applications, we use the AMD® VEK280 Evaluation Kit based on the AMD Versal™ AI Edge Series VE2802 device. The kit is expanded with Xylon’s 12-Ch GMSL2 FMC+ Daughter Card, which enables video camera connections. Instead of connecting the video cameras directly to the Xylon FMC, we connect them to Xylon’s logiRECORDER Automotive HIL Video Logger camera inputs.
The video outputs are then bypassed to the VEK280. In addition to superior data recording capabilities, which enable precise and non-intrusive recordings of all sensors across different vehicle types, this device also provides playback capabilities.
It enables full HIL testing of developed AI applications. All sensory data recorded in the field, or artificially generated in compatible simulation platforms, can be injected into the VEK280 (in this case, the Device Under Test (DUT)). The processed application outputs are displayed on the attached computer monitor.
Demo Applications
All demo applications are developed by Xylon's logicBRICKS Vision AI Framework. By changing the operation mode via the keyboard connected to the VEK280, the demo operator can switch between three different applications:
1. Automotive demo
Showcases different ADAS functions, including a full 360° surround view generated from four video cameras mounted on a passenger vehicle, AI-based object detection, AI-based free parking space detection, 3D space mapping based on video camera inputs, and distance estimation within the 3D space. For the best results, this demo requires the injection of video recordings from Xylon’s test vehicle drive.
2. Airborne drone demo
Showcases situational awareness capabilities estimated by the drone using four video cameras mounted close to the drone’s center. The complete surroundings are searched for objects recognized by the AI. Video inputs are synthetically generated in the simulator.
3. Industrial warehouse demo
Showcases how an autonomous robot perceives its surroundings while navigating through a warehouse. Video inputs are synthetically generated in the simulator.
